You’ve dabbled in downloaded programs from various sites and experienced personal training at your gym, but no matter what you try, you just can’t get the body you want.
It’s a story we know all too well; cut-and-paste training programs may work for the complete beginner but as soon as you get some training years behind you, nothing seems to stimulate muscle growth.
Having a dedicated program in place for your needs needs to be the primary focus initially since it’s going to guide you down the path to your goals. Here is some information to get you started.
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT GOALS YOU HAVE
You’re someone who has a few good training years behind you and you know the difference between your glute and your elbow. You have picked up an Olympic bar a few times and even moved away from machine-based resistance training.
The primary goal you want to focus on at this point is adding lean mass. You want a plan that’s going to push you and will get you results quickly.
YOUR SOURCE OF MOTIVATION
Motivation for a ‘hard’ body can come from a number of places. Perhaps you are just plain fed up with looking like hell or, maybe you have finally had enough with your current body weight and have decided to take action to reduce your weight down to where you feel comfortable. Dadbod anyone?
Whatever your source of motivation is, it’s important at this stage to pinpoint it and always keep that in the back of your mind as you progress along.
YOUR NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM
As a someone that has followed a nutritional plan, what you want to mostly focus on right now is packing on the lean mass. It is not as easy as you are lead to believe, but we know what to eat, when to eat it and how much.
One thing you do want to start doing at this point is making yourself more aware of that you really are what you eat, so if you want to wobble yourself down by the poolside, then eat what you want, if however you dream of wearing your finest Speedo’s with pride, then get started on the plan and don’t waste another day.
